We recently shared that we relocated from Virginia to North Carolina, and we’re loving it so far!  We try to make the most of our city and state by exploring things nearby and making sure we appreciate where we live. Moving to a new city and state makes this even more exciting!

We took full advantage of a rain-free weekend last week. Saturday, we kicked off our weekend with a morning trip to the pumpkin patch at Wise Acres Organic Farm — and we LOVED it. It came highly recommended by our friend-turned-realtor (thanks, Jess!) as yet another winner of a recommendation in the Charlotte area.

Wise Acres has a ton to offer — wagons for pumpkin picking, a wonderful selection of pumpkins, a corn maze, incredible homemade brick oven pizzas, and a cute little store with goodies (including organic applesauce pouches and kid snacks that certainly bailed out these parents). They even had my favorite heirloom pumpkin (did I just admit to that?!) — a Cinderella pumpkin.

One of my favorite things about Wise Acres, however, was the incredible staff. They were so sweet and made us feel extremely welcome, even when we arrived before they opened to take blog photos. Even when we asked a ton of questions. Even when I pranced around their brick oven pizza counter before that opened, too (because, toddlers).

Everyone we’ve met so far in Charlotte has been friendly, but the kind folks at Wise Acres still exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back for (organic!!) strawberry picking in the spring. Thank you, Wise Acres, for helping our family have a great pumpkin patch day!!
