Read MoreAfter we left warm and sunny Santorini, we flew back to Athens on Aegean Air and switched flights to leave Greece. We got a great flight deal on SAS, which has a major hub in Copenhagen. Though we nearly ran through the CPH airport on our way to Zakynthos, we were excited for a 24-hour layover in Copenhagen on our return flight.

Read MoreThe city of Athens is incredible. The crazy juxtaposition of ancient ruins and modern architecture was striking. While this might sound a lot like a description of Rome, the two cities are very different. They feel different. They flow differently. They just have very different souls. We’d dreamed of seeing Athens since we carted around history textbooks with the famous images from the Parthenon on the cover.
Read MoreOn a whim, a coworker who heard we’d booked a trip to Greece recommended that we look up Shipwreck Beach. We did, and we knew we had to go.
Read MoreThe final stage of our Peruvian adventure was a day-long layover in Lima before we flew back to the States. We noticed that many flight paths include a similarly long layover in Lima, so we hope this will be helpful to those of you who aren’t sure what to do with your day.
Read MoreAfter we departed from Aguas Calientes, our next stop was Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo is a quaint town that is sometimes referred to as the heart of the Sacred Valley. We stayed at the Apu Lodge, which is a very budget-friendly location. The Apu Lodge is categorized as a B&B, but we’d consider it to be more of a B&B-like hostel. Breakfast was included, and we had a view of the ruins in Ollantaytambo from our window.

Read MoreA realtor once told me that in every transaction, there is a “kite” and a “string.” When it comes to travel, Shannon has always been my “kite.” While I tend to drag my feet and get overwhelmed with the details of a trip, she has always taken a “book first and ask questions later” approach to travel. After six years of marriage, she has taught me a valuable life lesson: stop overthinking and BOOK THE TRIP.
Read MoreMaui is a beautiful place, and one that proved to be both educational and fun for our toddlers. So many people asked us about traveling from the East Coast to Hawaii with our two-year-old and four-year-old — and, surprisingly, it wasn’t because they thought we were crazy. They wanted to know whether they could travel there with their own children. Our answer? ABSOLUTELY!
Read MoreDisney World has some pretty incredible hotel options. In the past two years, we’ve stayed at the Contemporary, the Polynesian, the Grand Floridian, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
